Space Hotel February 27, 2000 If I had the opportunity to stay in the Mir Hotel I would. There are many good reasons to stay there along with it just being a fun experience. Staying at the Mir hotel would teach me a lot about space, how beautiful it is, and it would also promote the idea of people permanently living in space. I would learn a lot about space. I would have to go through the training and tests, things that would teach me about what astronauts have to go through. I would also learn a lot more about space and the way it works. Gravitation, sleep, the risks and good things about space that I would never have learned without that experience. It would also teach me to appreciate the earth as a whole without the countries and separations you would normally see on maps and most other pictures. Seeing the other planets first hand would be so much better than through pictures. When you think about the earth you think of it as so big compare to you and you can not see how big the solar system really is and how small the earth and we are compare to everything else that's out there. Staying at the Mir Station would also promote the advance of life in space. somebody has to be the fist and the second and the third and get things started before there can be an advance. I think that living in space and on other planets is very close. Eventually the earth will not be able to contain all the people on it. Soon there will not be enough food, land, and space to support all the people and we will have to turn to other options. We have to start thinking about it now, since it will take a while to figure everything out, before its too late. There are many good reasons that I can think of for staying in space. There are so many more than just learning about space, appreciating the beauty, and promoting the concept of living in space permanently. If I was ever able to have that opportunity I would never be able to turn it down.
